walkersCeredigion offers a fantastic way to enjoy great scenery and experience the great outdoors – whether on or off road, mountain biking trails or gentle rides along country lanes.

There are many wonderful walks exploring the local historic sites starting from Lampeter and the surrounding area.  There are plenty of walks to suit all abilities.  You can even take a walk straight from the door step of Caer Cadwgan Bed and Breakfast to explore the nearby Iron age hill fort!  Caer Cadwgan translates to Cadwgans Fort, the name of the megolithic hill fort within walking distance!

cyclistsDesignated routes such as the Ystwyth and Rheidol trails from Aberystwyth or the Cardi Bach Trail from Cardiganare linked with the Sustrans National Cycle Network (Cadwgan is on Sustrans route 82) and can form part of a more extensive cycling trip. Sections of the Ystwyth Trail are designed for leisurely cycling for all abilities.

Meanwhile the forest centre at Bwlch Nant yr Arian near Aberystwyth is great for mountain biking with views as well as technical challenges. There’s a choice of three routes, each with a different character. The Summit is exacly what the name suggests, superb views and flowing single track rides. The Pendam also has fantastic views, combined with some technically challenging sections. The third, Syfydrin trail extends out onto the open hills.
